Interview with Kami Naber

The yearbook team have interviewed Kami Naber, the head of the missions and head of student life at Valor Christian School International. We have asked a series of questions about upcoming events and mission trips.

Are there any school events coming up?
“No, as of now there are no planned events, but there is a meeting coming up in January about planning events for all of January, February, and March.”

What do mission trips mean to the students at Valor?
“Mission trips are an opportunity for high school students to experience new cultures wherever they go and to learn about the culture of the area they are serving in. Mission trips are also a chance to care and mentor the children they interact with.”

How many mission trips are there, and where are they going?
“There are 3 mission trips this year. They're going to Yakima, Washington, Titanyen, Haiti, and the Philippines."

Why is the school offering these mission trips to high school students?
“Valor gives the high school an opportunity for a new perspective, on how people in poverty live. Mission trips are also a way to leave their comfort zone, and learn new opinions on how they can help globally.”

When are mission trips taking off to their locations and when are the fundraisers for these mission trips?
“Missions trips are the week of March 13-17. Some of the upcoming fundraisers for the mission trips are Dinner and a movie and plants sales in February. There are 3 specific events that are going to be held to support each different mission trips. In conclusion these are the events upcoming for mission trips.”
